Purpose

Objective

The objective of the Committee is to foster and encourage yacht racing in the Solent by organising and managing a regatta during Cowes Week.

Membership

Membership is by invitation to local individuals interested in encouraging yacht racing in the Solent and typically consists of members from yacht and sailing clubs in Cowes and the surrounding area.

Officers

The Officers of the Committee are the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Hon. Secretary, and Hon. Treasurer. Officers retire at the Spring Annual Meeting but are eligible for re-election. The Chairman and Vice Chairman represent the Committee on the Cowes Combined Clubs committees.

Finance

Funding is required to meet the costs associated with organising the Regatta, such as providing prizes and meeting expenses, and the Committee derives income from an annual appeal to local organisations, businesses and individuals, and a donation from Cowes Combined Clubs when their funds permit.
